چکیده

This paper describes how to provide global Internet access to Mobile Personal Area Networks and suggests a protocol enhancement to support mobility under different node requirements. For this purpose the concept of the user’s Mobile Station acting as a Mobile Multi-link Subnet Router is introduced, which provides the necessary IPv6 connectivity and mobility services to the nodes connected to the Personal Area Network. The Mobile Station can distinguish between the nodes that need mobility support and the ones that do not in order to provide the appropriate type of IPv6 connectivity service. The main issues discussed are UMTS IPv6 connectivity, routing and mobility for the Mobile Station and the other nodes of the Mobile Personal Area Network.

A Localized Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) Protocol for Mobile Hotspots

Mobile hotspots, i.e. Internet access services in moving networks (e.g. vehicular area networks (VAN) and personal area networks (PAN)) bring about new challenging issues. Even if the network mobility (NEMO) basic support protocol has been standardized as a mobility solution by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), to the best of our knowledge, no studies have been conducted in the area o...

Le support des réseaux mobiles dans IPv6

Traditional work turning around mobility support has usually focused on host mobility, i.e. single terminals which change their point of attachment in the Internet topology, whereas the most current type of mobility in IPv6 is probably going to be network mobility, i.e. entire IPv6 networks which border routers change their point of attachment to the Internet topology. Mobile networks are expec...
